This is my first tryout using Painter X, and I'm very proud of the result. I realy love the organic feel of painting with this program, almost like real painting. I'm so happy that I've decided to change my usual "clean-airbrush" style on Photoshop and keep working with Painter.
The inspiration of the piece is the art of Mucha, Klimt, Dave McKean, the traditional indian paints... I´ve used my girlfriend as a reference in order to achieve information about lights, shadows and the pose, but it's not a portrait of her, all the jewelery, the cloths and the proportions of the face and the body are from my immagination.
Done in Painter X (the black and white acrylics I've usead as a base of the painting) and Photoshop CS3 (the color and the texture strokes), with a Wacom Cintiq 12WX, I've used the acrylics in Painter and some brushes from "Yan Xuenguo's good brush set" in Photoshop, no photo, or photo-texture used. I'll post an image explaining the complete process in the comments.
I hope you like it, and I really like to know your comments and critics of my new style.
PS: Sorry for my awful english, I'm keep working on it
